Some patterns I like from Japanese brand Minä Perhonen.Until recently, I have always thought it was a Finnish Brand !As Finland & Japan have creative relationship for a long time, I was not surprised to read Japanese names under original patterns (Marimekko has often collaborâtes with Japanese designers). But now, I know everything about designer and founder, Akira Minagawa who started the brand in 1995 !The brand name “minä” means “I,” and “perhonen” means “butterfly.”While traveling

HENRY DARGER

Last week, I went to the beautiful exhibition at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris. There was also an event set up for La Nuit des Musées. I listened to the beautiful album composed by Philippe Cohen Solal. He was so inspired by Henry Darger's work, he created music to go with it. The result is lyrical and will carry you in Darger's world.I read his autobiography so I knew what to expect. If you're in Paris these days, I highly recommend to go and see his drawings. To listen the album : http://outsideronline.co

Swedish film director Roy Andersson did about 400 commercials and only 6 movies during his career. We can see how younger directors such as Todd Solondz, Miranda July... have been influenced by his universe. He never studied cinema but art and history. He took inspiration from Pieter Brueghel (1525-1569), scenes in George Grosz's caricatural paintings (1893-1959), the great Otto Dix (1891-1969) and many others...The absurdity of man resonates in his tales and responds more than ever to a time

LAETITIA LOVICONI

Creative direction for places, arts and design
